WATERSPRAY AND DELUGE SYSTEMS

Knowsley SK are experts in the design and manufacture of modular skid based deluge packages with a vast reference list and experience including:

  • FIRE HYDRANTS

  • WET BARREL HYDRANTS AND HEADERS.
  • Knowsley SK wet barrel hydrants are available in configurations to suit the individual requirements of every site. Body materials and coatings are available for the harshest environments including low temperatures or offshore/marine locations.

  • INTERNALLY VALVED PILLAR HYDRANTS.
  • Dry barrel hydrants with an automatic drain feature for use in sub-zero conditions. Knowsley SK has a range of internally valved steel pillar hydrants providing a unique ability to customise the configuration or length to precise customer requirements. Additionally body materials can be customised to low-temperature carbon steels of high grade bronze to meet the harshest of environmental conditions. The Knowsley hydant incorporates a unique 8-port drain facility ensuring maximum reliability.

  • Knowsley SK’s range of Striker nozzles carries Factory Mutual (FM) approval:

  • FIRE HYDRANTS VALVES

  • DIAPHARAGM VALVES
  • Manufactured from high quality materials enabling use with fresh, brackish or seawater, all our valves are fully compliant with BS5041 part 1 (1987). Knowsley SK’s 4200 series of Fire Hydrant Diaphragm Valves consist of a corrosion- resistant gunmetal body, a Viton / Kevlar diaphragm, and a weir upon which the diaphragm closes the valve.

  • GLOBE VALVES
  • Knowsley SK Ltd manufactures a comprehensive range of FM approved 2½”n.b. globe valves for use on fire hydrants or wet rising mains. Manufactured from high quality mate- rials enabling use with fresh, brackish or seawater, all our valves are fully compliant with BS5041 part 1 (1987). Globe valves are available in all body styles; Bibnose, Oblique and Horizontal pattern and can be supplied with a wide variety on inlet / outlet connections ranging from flanges, threaded connections and multiple hose coupling types.

  • PRESSURE REDUCING VALVES
  • The Knowsley SK Ltd HoseSafe™ pressure regulating hydrant valve is for use on oil, gas and petro-chemical sites, oil rig platforms or wet rising mains in buildings. HoseSafe™ is designed to maintain a safe constant outlet pressure irrespective of varying inlet pres- sure and is suitable for use on sites even where high or low ambient temperatures are experienced. The hosesafe valve is available in all body styles; Bibnose, Oblique and Hori- zontal pattern and can be suplied with a wide variety on inlet / outlet connections ranging from flanges, threaded connections and multiple hose coupling types.

    MONITORS

  • FIXED MANUAL MONITORS
  • Available in a choice of sizes to suit a variety of applications. Lever or hand wheel operated to provide control of rotation and elevation, can be fitted with a variety of nozzle options for water or foam discharge. All Knowsley monitors are manufactured in high quality gunmetal to provide years of reliable service.

  • OSCILLATING MONITORS
  • Self-powered monitors where an oscillating movement is generated through a water turbine driven by the firewater supply. Developed specifically to suit the requirements of tank farms, helidecks and process plant fire protection systems. Ideal for any predetermined risk area where large volumes of firewater are required. Available in two sizes with maximum capacity in excess of 6000 l/min.

  • MOBILE MONITORS
  • Rapid response fire fighting cover that can be a useful supplement to existing / fixed systems on high risk plants. Following input from end users the Firefly has been subjected to important and effective design changes to maximise the operability and lifetime of the unit. These include automatic braking systems and the use of high quality stainless steel in wetted parts to prevent corrosion. The Firefly can be supplied with or without hose boxes and with hose inlet connections.

  • REMOTE CONTROL MONITORS
  • Knowsley SK manufactures monitors and provides a comprehensive turnkey design package for remote control monitor systems. Used to protect areas of extreme risk where deploy- ment of fire fighting personnel is considered too dangerous. Available in hydraulic or electri- cally operated configuration and manufactured from high quality materials to suit marine and process plant applications. Available in a range of sizes to suit every application and suitable for water or foam discharge.
