Design of the system shall comply with the requirements of the Fire Protection Regulations NPB 88-2001* for gas fire suppression systems. Upon receipt of the signal "fire" a signal for opening of the valves on modules with a fire suppression agent is transmitted from the fire alarm sensors or manual release unit. The fire suppression agent located in the modules in the liquid state under pressure of propellant gas (nitrogen) flows through pipelines to the spray nozzles, of which it is sprayed in a gaseous state, quickly and efficiently filling the protected premises. |

Agent Novec™ 1230 has no colour, smell, and the temperature of the substance gaseous state corresponds to the ordinary room temperature. Molecules of substances contain carbon, fluorine and oxygen. Novec™ 1230 absorbs heat of the flames, thereby interrupting the combustion reaction. |

The fire suppression substance is non-toxic, leaves no residue and does not take up much storage space. System EI MX1230® may be individually adapted to protection of small facilities. Spray nozzles and modules have been designed with regard to the characteristics of the protected facility and are distinguished by small dimensions. The module pressure (up to 50 bar) allows to develop multi-zone fire suppression systems with long pipelines.
Fire suppression agent Novec™ 1230 acts as physically (heat absorption) and as chemically (inhibition of chemical reaction of combustion). Novec™ 1230 is widely used around the world and, thanks to its environmental characteristics has been recognized in many countries as a fire suppression agent for server rooms and similar electronic equipment. Novec™ 1230 is used in fire of classes A and B and is used as a substance completely filling the premises. It is not corrosive, non-conductive and does not leave any residue, and therefore cannot cause a short-circuit failure.

The manufacturer of fire suppression agent Novec™ 1230 by company 3M™ has introduced the concept of "3M Blue Sky Warranty" for fire suppression agents: Company 3М™ is ready to return the money spent on the purchase of Novec™ 1230 in case of prohibiting of use of the substance due to the impact on the ozone layer and the greenhouse effect.
Novec™ 1230 has an incredible safety factor, reaching a value of 10% NOAEL (No Observed Adverse Effect Level). When used to protect computer rooms safety the factor is equal to 78% (measured at a concentration of 5.6% according to DIN ISO 14520-5). This is one of the reasons by which the insurance companies confirm that Novec™ 1230 fire suppression agent is safe for use in public areas. Besides, Novec™ 1230 due to its low fire suppression concentration does not reduce the oxygen content in the room to dangerous levels.
Physical properties of Novec™ 1230, when it moves through the pipeline, are close to chlorofluorohydrocarbons therefore, the piping designed for chladones may be used in a system with Novec™ 1230, which makes replacement of modules with gas fire suppression agents possible without dismounting of the piping.
Another advantage of Novec™ 1230 over other gases is an ability to reuse because of its unique properties. The cylinders should undergo recertification every 10 years. Herewith Novec™ 1230 may be drained from the cylinder in any reservoir and then poured again (after that the gas propellant should be injected) and the cylinder is again ready for use in the fire suppression system.
